OCPP is a standardized communication protocol for EV charging infrastructure, regardless of the manufacturer. It is designed to enable compatibility between EV chargers and management software, thereby offering consumers greater convenience and choice.

zappi offers personalized charging tailored to your lifestyle and preferences. Whether you need a quick charge, prefer to charge using 100% renewable energy, or a combination of both, zappi gives you the flexibility to charge your way.
Eco-charging mode combines green energy with energy drawn from the grid. This mode minimizes the use of grid power—typically taking advantage of lower rates overnight—but it also allows you to charge using 100% green energy. This gives you the option to charge your car for free! The charging power is continuously adjusted to account for changes in electricity generation or power consumption elsewhere in the home.
If the surplus of generated energy falls below 1.4 kW, electricity is drawn from the grid to replenish it.
“Eco+” charging is very similar to “eco” charging in that it can use power from the grid or your own energy source. However, the charging power is constantly adjusted based on changes in power generation or power consumption elsewhere in the home. Charging your electric car is paused if too much power is being drawn and resumes only when there is a surplus of available power.
In fast-charging mode, your vehicle is charged at maximum power. This power can come from a renewable energy source or simply from the grid. The cost of charging an electric car also depends on various factors, including the charging mode and the type of car.
If you don't have solar panels or wind power generation, zappi charges the same way as a standard Mode 3 charging station.

A solar-powered EV charger allows you to use excess solar energy to power your car. To generate solar energy, you need to install solar panels (PV) on your home or workplace. However, the energy produced by the solar panels is completely free, which means you can essentially drive for free!
The light energy from the sun is called a photon. This is the most fundamental particle of all light. It is these photons in natural daylight that solar panels convert into electricity. This small bundle of electromagnetic energy is constantly in motion. Simply put, a solar panel works by causing photons—or particles of light—to collide with electrons, which dislodges them from atoms and thus generates an electric current.
Our eco-smart technology makes intelligent decisions based on the electricity you generate yourself and the energy rate plan you’ve subscribed to. This allows your myenergi devices to be optimized to use energy from the grid at the lowest possible rate per kWh.

In that case, it simply draws power from the grid, and your car charges just like it would with a conventional electric car charger. With the added benefit that it’s ready to charge using solar power if you decide to install solar panels in the future!

The time it takes to charge your EV isn't so black and white and depends on various factors, such as the vehicle, the battery size, and the type of charger. However, the average charging time for an EV is about 7 hours and 42 minutes when using a standard (non-fast) charger.
The time it takes to charge your EV using solar panels depends on several factors, such as the number of solar panels. On average, a single panel will generate about 2 kWh per day. So if you have multiple panels, the amount of power generated will increase.
The cost of charging your EV depends on several factors. If you use solar panels, you can charge your EV for free. If, on the other hand, you pay to charge your EV at a gas station, for example, they’ll set their own rate based on the fluctuating energy costs at that time. At home, it’s usually cheaper to charge your electric car overnight rather than during the day. Additionally, you can select different charging levels, which makes the cost variable.
