eddi can be easily connected to any existing solar panel system. Once connected, eddi continuously makes intelligent decisions in less than 1 second about how and where your home energy generation is used.
EDDI redirects any excess solar or wind generation back into the home, maximizing the consumption of your self-generated energy instead of exporting it to the grid. This allows you to heat water with solar energy – completely free of charge!
eddi is a solar inverter that works in conjunction with a hot water heater. Unlike standard water heaters, which only turn on or off, the Eddi steplessly controls the heating element, similar to a light dimmer. Thus, every watt of excess solar power is efficiently stored in the water battery, maximizing your own solar power consumption!
eddi can heat the water with lower powers of solar power (from 150 watts and up), this means eddi can trickle charge to heat the water while the heat pump is idle.
With standard solar panels without smart control, on average you only use 30% of your generated solar power and feed 70% back to the grid. With Myenergi's water battery, you can increase your self-consumption up to 80%. This gives you control over the use of your own energy and maximizes your returns.
Use the myenergi app to adjust and optimize the settings of your ECO smart appliances to achieve maximum efficiency from your heating appliances and other smart appliances. Set timers for your hot water heater via the myenergi app.

Run your heat pump with eddi's intelligence
If there is not enough solar energy to power the heat pump, eddi takes over the task of heating water using any available solar energy. We call this 'slow charging at low generation'.
EDDI can fully heat your water with much lower amounts of solar energy, such as during winter mornings, late summer evenings, or cloudy days. This ultimately improves the life and efficiency of the heat pump and avoids dependency on additional power from the grid.
EDDI will allow the automatic switching of heating equipment depending on the generation level. It switches between the heat pump (during hours of optimal generation) or eddi, which charges slowly using the electric heater (during periods of lower generation), depending on your chosen settings and preferences.
