Calculate how many CT sensors you need

Not sure how many CT clamps you need for your installation? Use the calculation tool below. Based on your connection and your myenergi devices, you'll immediately see the correct number.

The calculation tool loads on the live page. In the editor preview, you may see an empty box—that's normal.

Essential for your myenergi system

Without a properly installed CT sensor, your system cannot detect excess power. The sensor is therefore the foundation for the zappi’s smart charging modes, the eddi’s power redirection, and the libbi’s charging and discharging.

Want to connect wirelessly? Pair it with the Harvi

Is your meter box far from your device, or do you prefer not to run a cable? Then connect the CT sensor to the harvi, which transmits the measurement wirelessly—without cables to your device and without batteries.

Proper Installation (The Golden Rules)

  1. Use one net-CT per phase for the entire installation.
  2. Place the CT before each branch so that it can see all imports and exports.
  3. Make sure the arrow on the clamp points in the direction of import.
  4. Click the clamp all the way shut (you'll hear it click).
  5. Use only CT sensors approved by myenergi.

Advantages of the CT sensor

  1. Accurate measurement of your consumption and generation.
  2. Easy to clamp the cable, without interrupting the flow.
  3. Available in 40A and 65A for various connections.
  4. Works with zappi, eddi, eddi+, and libbi.
  5. Can be made wireless when used with the Harvi.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a CT sensor do?

It measures the current in your cable so your myenergi device knows how much energy you're generating and consuming.

How many CT sensors do I need?

That depends on your connection and the number of myenergi devices. As a rule of thumb: one grid CT per phase. Use the calculation tool on this page to determine the exact number for your situation.

Do I need a CT sensor?

Yes. Every myenergi system requires at least one grid CT to detect surplus power.

What is the difference between the 40A and 65A versions?

The measurement range and the cable diameter that the clamp fits vary. Choose the version that matches your connection.

Can I use the CT sensor wirelessly?

Yes, in combination with the Harvi. It sends the measurement wirelessly to your device.

Standard Delivery

Shipping costs are calculated during checkout.

Included CT clamps:

  • zappi: 3 CT clamps
  • eddi: 1 CT clamp
  • eddi+: 3 CT clamps
  • libbi 1-phase set: 1 CT clamp
  • libbi 3-phase set: 3 CT clamps

An additional CT clamp is required if you want to view the real-time output of your solar/wind system on your product's LCD screen. (Optional)

In some cases, additional CT clamps are required, for example, for three-phase systems.

If a longer cable is needed, you can extend it using a CAT5 Ethernet cable, but you might also consider using the myenergi harvi to connect the CT wirelessly.
