These FAQs cover the most frequently asked questions about Gridpay and our partnership with Axle.

Gridpay is myenergi’s grid flexibility service. Once signed up, we automatically adjust your zappi charging when the grid is under strain. In return, you earn rewards for your participation.
To join Gridpay, you need:
- A zappi charger in Great Britain
- A smart meter
- Authority over electricity and charger use at your property
You cannot participate if your charger is already managed by another grid flexibility service, such as Intelligent Octopus Go.
Sign up takes about 2 minutes. Visit our signup page. With your permission, Axle Energy will connect to your smart meter and zappi, then register your details with your local grid operator.
Rewards depend on how much your charger flexes and the rates paid by the grid operators. You could get up to £100 per year, though the exact amount varies by location. Once you redeem your rewards, your request will be processed within 3 working days.
We switch your zappi into Eco+ mode to pause charging, then return it to your previous mode once the event ends. We also use zappi’s built-in scheduling for additional charging if required. You can override our adjustments anytime via your zappi or the myenergi app.
Your charging schedules are temporarily adjusted during events and reset immediately afterwards. You can edit schedules anytime in the myenergi app.
No. Gridpay never takes energy out of your vehicle battery.
You can easily opt out of Gridpay in the myenergi app. Simply open Settings, select Gridpay > Deactivate, and follow the on-screen steps.
You paused my charger but I haven’t received any rewards yet.
Rewards are processed monthly. You’ll receive an email at month-end with details of your rewards and withdrawal options.
I don’t want charging paused between certain times.
Custom time windows are not supported. However, you can override our commands anytime via your zappi or myenergi app.
I received an email saying you couldn’t connect to my charger.
This usually means your charger is offline or needs a firmware update. We’ll continue to try reconnecting automatically.
My charge was paused at an inconvenient time.
You can override our command by changing the charging mode back from Eco+ to your preferred mode and resetting your schedule.
