It allows us to measure electricity.<\/p>\n<p>The charging time of your EV will depend on a few factors;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>battery size<\/li>\n<li>charging speed<\/li>\n<li>type of charger<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The kWh is the unit, so we just need to do a quick formula to work out the time;<\/p>\n<p><strong>A 60 kWh battery with a 7kWh charger means it will take approximately 8 to 9 class=\"w-full first-mt-0 last-mb-0 \">\n                        <h3>Calculating EV charging needs<\/h3>\n<p>Now we know what a kWh is and what it measures, we can work out how many you need to charge your EV.<\/p>\n<p>To do this, you need to work out the following;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Determine your daily driving distance<\/li>\n<li>Divide your daily driving distance by your car\u2019s kWh\/100 miles rating (this information can usually be found in your car manual or online)<\/li>\n<li>Multiply the result by your desired state of charge ( e.g. 80% or 100%)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Therefore, if you drive 40 km and your car has a rating of 4 kWh\/100 km&#8217;s, you\u2019ll need 1.6 kWh to charge your car to 80% to 0%<\/p>\n<p>If you want to charge your car to 100%, you\u2019ll need 2 kWh.<\/p>\n
