Installations in single-unit properties need to be completed by\u00a0<strong>31 March 2022<\/strong>\u00a0and a claim submitted to the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) by\u00a0<strong>30 April 2022<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The scheme will remain open to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Homeowners who live in flats<\/li>\n<li>Occupiers of rental accommodation<\/li>\n<li>Landlords<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The scheme is also transitioning to a new online service, which is not yet available \u2013 more details to follow.<\/p>\n                    <\/div>\n                <\/div>\n\n                    <\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\n<div id='block-simple-content-block_627d1e76dd689'  class='flexi-block simple-content-block pt-8 lg:pt-16 pb-8 lg:pb-16 '>\n\n    <div class=\"container mx-auto wide-container\">\n\n        <div class=\"content-inner bg-white rounded-2.5xl \">\n\n            <div class=\"mx-auto first-mt-0 last-mb-0 max-w-[90%] xl:max-w-[990px]  \">\n\n                <h3 class=\"h3  text-left  \">What is OZEV?<\/h3>\n<p>OZEV stands for The\u00a0<strong>Office<\/strong>\u00a0for\u00a0<strong>Zero-Emission Vehicles<\/strong>\u00a0(OZEV). OZEV replaced OLEV which stands for\u00a0<strong>Office<\/strong>\u00a0for\u00a0<strong>Low Emission Vehicles.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Boris Johnson recently announced the ban on the sales of fossil fuel vehicles in the UK from the date 2030. This prompted the government to tweak the name of the department responsible for supporting the roll out of EV charging infrastructure from OLEV to OZEV. A switch in terminology from \u2018Low Emissions\u2019 to \u2018Zero Emissions\u2019 which is more in keeping with net zero carbon ambitions.<\/p>\n<p>OZEV are a team of government officials whom are supporting the transition from fossil fuel vehicles to electric vehicles. The Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) have reduced the grant since its\u2019 original starting level of \u00a31000, the EV Homecharge Scheme grant has decreased by more than half and will continue to drop. The same holds true for the Workplace Charging Scheme<\/p>\n<p>There are many benefits to using the OZEV grant Scheme: the grants allows you to charge domestic vehicles, company cars or fleet vehicles. Own an EV or are planning on purchasing an electric vehicle within 4 months of the application<\/p>\n<p>2. You must have off-street parking, such as a driveway.<\/p>\n<p>3. The charger model must be OZEV approved (such as the myenergi zappi)<\/p>\n<p>4. The charger must be smart enabled (requires an internet connection)<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"w-full w-full load-hidden flex flex-wrap flex-col column column-2\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"w-full first-mt-0 last-mb-0 grow content-wrapper relative sm:px-10 pb-7 xl:pl-20 xl:pr-32 lg:py-16 pt-9 pb-8 md:pb-[62px] lg:pt-14 md:pt-16 sm:bg-grey-19 rounded-b-2.5xl !rounded-2.5xl \">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>5. Your chosen installer must be an OZEV approved installer (find OZEV approved installers)<\/p>\n<p>6. Grants can be applied for, 4 months prior to the charger installation or EV registration.<\/p>\n<p>7. You can apply for two EV charge points per household, if at least two EV\u2019s are registered to that address.<\/p>\n<p>8. It is a common misconception where customers believe they can claim the grant directly from the government.<\/p>\n<p>The grant is not passed to the customer as a monetary transaction i.e., you will not receive \u00a3350 in your bank account. Those who adopt early, are usually able to take advantage of the greater financial savings.
